I’m Thinking About Getting Another SG!

I have an Epi Modern SG and Epi SG custom. They are both kick ass guitars. The Modern I got is red, and unlike the Gibson, has push pull out of phase and Locking Grover’s. And it’s like 1/4 of the price of the Gibson.

Yeah those Tronical tuners are an abomination.

    I have a question.

Try one of these from Sweetwater. all sorts of choices in these. I used one with the factory strap buttons on a Les Paul Studio. The guitar will stay put. The nylon versions are just over 20 bucks. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LISDlxSuBrn--lock-it-straps-deluxe-suede-strap-brown

Les Trem II Not Playing Nice with SG Modern

The SG Modern has an asymmetrical neck. If that works for you there is nothing else that really compares. It’s the same with mine, although it’s an Epiphone Version. Very comfortable. I love the neck on mine. And the Epi version comes with out of phase push/pull and locking tuners.

Gibson SG Standard '61 reissue- New condition $1480 + 40 ship

You need to get a better stand. That one will **** up your guitar to the point that nobody will want to buy it. Just sayin’.

    Hello. New Guy Here.

I am gassing for one of those white SG’s. I have to return a G&L due to a non functioning pickup. I will probably get an EPI standard, as that won’t be much more than the G&L was.

    I give up on Gibson

What country are you in OP?

    First Gibson SG , 05 , pics.

That is a thing of great beauty. I would be tempted to get on if I run into one out in the wild, I have three SG’s. Two are Epiphones….a Custom and a Modern. And my wife got me an SG Standard back in April. But that grain is insane.

    Set up question

What he said. Go back to 10-46 and the guitar should be like it was before without any fiddling.

Recommended strings for Epipone SG Special

I’ve never found a set of Fender strings that I liked. The Bullets were great, until the string breaks there.

Small amp for unleashing the Sabbath terror!

The Mark V Boogie has a MKII setting. Apparently that is what Iommi used on Mob Rules.

Recommended strings for Epipone SG Special

If I like the GHS, I will use them on customer’s guitars when I do a set up, if they haven’t supplied their own favorite strings.

Bought a Sabra cadabra pedal…it sucks!

I just discovered that I had the tone I was looking for already in the Mark II sett\ing\ on m\y Mesa. DIO era Sabbath sound. I think I will call Mesa/Boogie this week and find out which of their pedals sounds most like a Colisium series Mark II.

Recommended strings for Epipone SG Special

I’m gonna try GHS Boomers 9.5-44 for my Strat next. Strings by mail has them for $5.69 a set. I’m a veteran, so I get a 10% discount there.

    any SG modern owners?

Wow, and autographed to boot. A nice inheritance for your future generations. In 20 years it could possibly pay for college for a grand kid.

    NGD SG jr

That looks sweet. Congrats on a fine new guitar.

    Has Anyone Seen These Tuners?

I don’t think I would want a tuner screwed to my guitar. After a few battery changes, the screw could be toast. I will continue to use my Snarks. I also have a couple of Strobe tuners.
