Even good players get anal with new guitars

QUOTE "However, if you want to make it even at the heel (assuming it's already even at the nut) then just buy a new bridge. They come without slots in the saddles and you can space it however you wish. Just know that the pickup poles may not be in line afterwards." Thanks, didn't know I could...

    NGD 2020 SG Classic

Yours look perfect, always some luck involved. I'm waiting for one to come in stock. I just hope I get one like yours with level frets and dead on string spacing, The neck is always my main concern.

Why doesn't Gibson offer a p90 SG that's hum cancelling in the mid position?

QUOTE "Never liked humbuckers at the neck because they sound too boomy and single coils at the bridge sound too plinky." I couldn't agree more. Thats why i prefer P90's, also agree as posted already that the full mid position is not where most players are gonna hang out BUT flipping that switch...

Are the two SG P90 models hum cancelling in the middle position?

I know with Gibson if the guitar is hand wired then the mid position is not hum cancelling but if it has a plug in circuit board like the Tributes then it is. Don't know if the Epi's are hum cancelling p90's.

    duplicate sorry

I just saw that the special is 50's hand wired so I'm assuming it's not hum canceeling which althought many might not care it's a deal breaker for me.

I think your right regarding the non circuit board models with 50's wiring and such but I have a LP special tribute p90 and it is hum canceling.

Even good players get anal with new guitars

Got a new SG tribute and it's a real nice guitar. I know they're mass produced and hit & miss on what issues they might have. I get a little anal when it come to the neck only. I'm keeping her as she plays fine but on close look I don't think the neck is dead straight into the body as I have...
