THe big difference for me would be the Slim Taper on the 61. I have a 2018 Satndard 61, I used to use a baseball bat neck on a Les Paul Standard. The slim Taper is so much better , the neck plays itself :)

Thank You !! I found the Black pickguard on the Alpine White was quite stark ! I was going to use the pure white pickguard material, but decided last minute with the mint :) and happy with outcome :) Mine is a 2020 Inspired by .. Epiphone Standard, It plays just amazing , all around quality .

i disagree, My 2018 Gibson SG "61" came factory with Grover locking tuners, i don't feel they are too heavy , nor do i have any neck dive.

why not use the GRovers (stable) and change the buttons, the kidneys on my 2018 Lovling Grovers bothered me for the look, so I changed the buttons to Ivory Tulips , and am very happy with the look, and I keep the awesome factory locking Grovers :)

EPi Standard necks should be Mahogany :)

I see no issues on any frets on my 2018 Standard / factory, nor any other Gibson , new from factory. the frets come done :) maybe u could polish them to make them shiny i suppose, the shine comes as you are removing metal .. same as "layering the frets or what have you.

why in the world would you need to "polish/sand" the frets on a 2022 Gibson SG Standard? This makes no sense

the mint is 3 ply, this 2020 epi Standard had a Black 5 ply factory :)

amazon has many variants , full blanks for $12 - $15 :) drill and a few good files and its complete !!
