You can cut the nut on the jack with a dremmel and a cut off wheel. It looks nice.

Well for the moment I would prefer to find a non destructive way.
I tried to put a jack with rubber band around to have a good grip inside but no successfull result...

Open the electronics cover on the backside and hold the jack with a pair of pliers while you turn the nut on the other side. I'd probably replace it with a Switchcraft or a Pure Tone jack once I got it out. Looks like a great guitar once you get it cleaned up.

I already tried that but the inner shaft is turning. So no result. I tried to put a jack with rubber to hold it while turning with pliers but it stays stucked.
For the moment I stop trying because the finish is already scratched.

I finally set it up completely and here are my impressions :
+ Lightweight. Good neck, a bit to straight but I will adjust it. Good action already without too much tuning. No big buzzes. Electronic is working without scratches. Tuning stays in place.
- the pickups are not very... livefull for the moment. I still have to try them at normal volume and set the height correctly but I was not impressed.

Do you have advices for the pickups? I am not sure of the correct height and if the plots have to follow the radius...

Pickup height should be set to the place where they sound the best, and the "correct height" depends on the pickup output and what you want from it. The pole screws can be set to follow the radius, but there again, it all comes down to the sound and where they work best. I will say none of mine follow the radius all the way across, but they sound good where they are, so that is that. I just grab my screwdriver, plug it in, and experiment until I like it. You can usually tell when you are getting "worse instead of better" as you change the height, so narrow it down to a zone of "better", and then work in that range to find the "best" sound. If you have to balance individual strings use the pole piece screws to try and balance out a string that is dull or too hot. It takes a while, but it is time well spent. I usually do it over a period of several days because ear fatigue can set in, and I seldom get the best results from a single session. Don't be afraid to just put it down and come back to it with fresh ears.

Tried it yesterday at rehersal volume and the bridge was way too trebly and neck... too dark and very unprecised.
I will continue to set them up little by little but I really think about changing them for a used set of OK PU (nothing too expensive)

I found a used set of 490r and 498t gor good price and think about adding a p94/phat cat in the middle :
- i read mixed reviews for the 490 498. I dont do high gain stuff. A bit of clean picking/strumming and 75% of overdrive/low distortion. I have a tele with bare knuckle PU that goes rather well for this but I find it a little thin with distortion/overdrive. That s why I took the sg to try adding a bit more power and impact but still want clarity for clean. Would these PU match this?
- the p90 does to be a bridge or neck one to mix best with the humbuckers?
- do you have wiring schemes for this kind of mix? I just find hhh wiring... And dont understand clearly the difference with push pull pots or not for center PU

Get a medium size pair of vise-grips.

Adjust so the NUT gets bent a little OUT-OF-ROUND each time their clipped on.

Then after a few times the nut will be free to turn.

Hello there!

I received the beast a week ago and..... I was a bit deceived at first. It was in an absolutely terrible state of dirtiness. All the metallic parts are partly rusted and the strings were just like barbed wire! But the good part is that there s no important mark, just a crack in the finish at the start of the neck but I really dont think the neck has moved. The neck is curved a bit in the wrong way but there is no strings so it seems normal. And the frets are surprisingly in good conditions. The electronic seems to work but I will have to check closely with new strings.

I am at the point of finishing the cleaning/ derusting job and will try it musically soon.

I have still one problem for the moment. The input jack is totally rusted and impossible to unscrew. I tried wd40 but the bolt refuse to turn, and instead, it s an internal piece that is turning. Do you have advice to fix it?

You'll need to open the control cover on the back and get some pliers to hold the jack in place while you turn the nut on the other side.

A few more questions
- i plan to put a les trem and maybe a vibrola if the les trem stays in tune. I am thinking of trying a roller bridge to avoid tuning issue.
Will this tune o matic fit? I measure 4mm stud and nearly 74mm spacing. So it should be good. And it seems metric not inchsize

- for the wiring, i found this 3 vol, 1 tone and push pull to add or remove middle pu. Do you know other wiring for 3 pu?

I measured the pu and they go from 8.28ohm bridge to 8.34 neck. Middle is 8.47. I thought they would be hotter

Finally clean and de rusted
