I’ve been very much enjoying my 64 Reissue and had been checking out a Junior at my local L&M. After a few trips back and forth, I finally caved and grabbed it. Well, an SG with a single P90 blew me away, but I also really love the punch of a neck P90, so I grabbed a 63 Reissue Special, too!

So now I have a trio…

Any chance you can tell me what the 63 special neck is like? is it chunkier than the 61 and usa SGs currently?

The neck is not chunkier than the current SG Standards I've tried or my SG Junior. The profile is different than on the Junior and on the 61s I've played - less shoulder. There were none in any nearby stores, so I had to order it and try it out (backed by a very good return policy, of course). I was a bit surprised at first when I felt the "63 Medium C", but it suits the guitar, which is light as a feather (5 lbs 14 oz) and very lively. It's definitely slimmer than the "64 Medium C"

I did take notes of my 3 SGs' neck measurements and weights, as well as pickup resistance (which I know isn't the be-all, end-all). As you can see, the USA Junior's neck is wider than the other two and the profile has more shoulder, which leads to it feeling fatter, despite the depth being quite close to the Special.
