There should be a lot of reviews out there. I know there were a lot of reviews on the epi sg standard that I watched before I purchased mine.

The epiphones have been getting great reviews

Its not that mutch i can find eiter on this forum or other pluss YouTube.and its just basic stuff that they are great and that the pickguard is correct.i woued like to hear from someone that has playing the guitar fore some time and if posseble have the standard 61/60s with vibrola and can tell me if the neck profile is the same etc.i know there its a diffrence In finish.the 61 lp sg got the same like the 59 lp and the vibrola got standard gloss.i woued also like to know from owners of the 61 lp sg if the back treble bevel on the back is not finish like on the guitarista review or if some got full bevels etc.

Consider a Gibson SG Tribute + Bigsby :

To be honest I've been looking at the '61 as well and was thinking for not much more is a Gibson Tribute a better route. I have to say though the '61 is 100% my vibe.
It might be sacrilege but I have a lovely set of Bareknuckles that are begging to go into an SG right now (I know the '61 have some lovely Gibson pickups though)

Why does any of that make a difference? Are Americans better at building guitars? They were making stringed instruments in China long before the United States even existed.

Exactly! I have 2 Fender Jaguars made in Mexico and they are great quality guitars. I also have a Fender Redondo acoustic that I really love. It’s made in China. So actually I guess it just doesn’t really matter.

I have ordered a 1961 Les Paul SG Standard. I’m supposed to get it Tuesday the 14th. I love SGs and I’m very excited about this new one.

I love the Gibson SG Les Paul Custom, that' s an awesome instrument, very good guitar !

May be my next guitar will be this tone monster, stopbar version,
