Hi all,

I just found out about that model, and it has neck dimensions of '69 SGs, a really narrow neck width that I might like very much. Anyone has any experience with this guitar?

The specs look like a narrow nut version of a slim taper.. not thick like a 69 but maybe similar at the nut width.

I do have one and I really like it "now".
I was used to play my 61 standard with flat wide neck and by coincidence, one day, I saw this 2016 Naked, satin, brand new, on sale at my local second hand shop and just bought it on a whim.

I gave it few tries but I still was into my 61 and busy with other things so it stayed unplayed for a long time. Also, i then read about this narrow neck and decided it wasnt for me and was thinking to sell it.
Only few months ago I decided to take it out a bit more and to my surprise, I ended up playing it a long. Now, I enjoy this neck very very much and find it very weird when I take my '61 😆

It's a cool guitar, I like its plain look and the P90 sound great. Mine is still in mint condition and I think it would look even better once played a lot more or relic-ed (which I wont do)
Anyway, I think they are also very rare so if you find one with a fair price, just buy and decided later like I did 🤣
I think I would like the look of the walnut version even more but I never saw one in real.

well, i ended up getting one! Not really a fair price, around 1000$, but brand new... And what are the odds finding it instantly, in China anyway lol.

I have to say I'm overall happy with it, it's just a little on a heavier side for an SG. I think maybe around 7.5 Ibs, but I can live with that. I was thinking to convert it to a humbucking gtr, 'cause I can't live with the single coil hum, but man, those p90 are super quiet, and the middle position is hum canceling. Them sound pretty good, so.. if it ain't broken don't fix it.

Now the neck is beautiful, 1 9/16, narrowest width I ever played, and I love it! It's so great for all kinds of rhythm playing, I can easily wrap may thumb around for muting, so strumming chords is just a joy. I can't believe Gibson don't make it as a regular standard neck anymore, they were on to something in those late 60's. Gibson, cmon, you need to make 69' Standard model, not just 61, or tribute or something. One can dream heheh.

$1000 isn't a bad price for that P90 packing SG! Mine is sitting right now but does make cameo appearances every now and then.

I totally agree with you.. have a bunch of SG's 1986 R-62, 2008 Diablo Silver and 2008 Robot in Green (unrobotted) but my old 1976 with the 1 9/16 nut and ROUNDED neck feels great.. like a fat toothpick in the hand.. just feels right.. love the neck profile and with long narrow fingers i can manage the narrow nut just fine.. It has me wanting more of the narrow nut guitars.. this one is cool.. but resale on these is well above $ 1100 unfortunately..

Welcome to ETSG, and congratulations on making a
fine choice of guitar.

Now let's see some more photos.

I have an Epiphone ES-339 P90 pro, where the middle position
is wired like a big humbucker. That's my favorite position anyway,
so the P-90 sound is actually stunning.
