All,
I am trying to find out more information about this guitar, which I believe is a limited release offering from Guitar Center in 2005-06. I am still waiting for confirmation of the model and specs from Gibson, but thought I'd try here until I hear more from them.
I believe it is one of the guitars from GC which had the Grover tuners, pre VOS aged finish, rounded C neck, aged hardware, and Custom Shop build, whatever that entails.

What pickups? Heard 57 and also Burstbuckers. They don't sound anything like my 57s in another SG, so I'm thinking Burstbuckers.

Anyone know how many were made? Read 500 and 300. Neither?

I've seen another thread about these, but not many responses, so thought I'd try again.

Have one? How do you like it, and how does it compare to other SG's you have played?

Thanks for any information you can provide!

Not much to say, the only differences from a regular Historic reissue are the Grover tuners and lightly aged finish that pre-dated the VOS option:

https://solidguitar.fandom.com/wiki...2_SG_Standard_Reissue_.282005.E2.80.932007.29

All other specs will match a 2005-2007 Historic reissue:

https://solidguitar.fandom.com/wiki...G_Standard_Reissue_.282000.E2.80.93Present.29

That means '57 Classics in 2005 and Burstbuckers in 2006-2007.

No official production limit was ever stated.

Thank you, what’s your opinion 57’s vs burst buckers? By the way hers is a 2006
Serial number is 061372 does it show what unit production hers is within this serial number?

Purely a matter of taste. '57s are generally considered smoother, whereas Burstbuckers have unbalanced coils, which gives them a little more single coil like quality. Burstbuckers are generally lower in output, as well.

The serial number doesn't tell you much. Just the year (2006), model (SG Standard) and the production number among all guitars produced - at least with that serial format, if not all produced by the Custom Shop that year. I've never found info on that specifically.

https://solidguitar.fandom.com/wiki/Dating#Custom_Shop_Serial_Numbers

So yours could be the 137th SG Standard, the 137th SG/Firebird/68 LP, the 137th Historic Gibson, or the 137th Custom Shop Gibson built that year.
