I don't know if I'd "want" one of those Vox guitars... but I don't dislike them... Every one I've played has been pretty impressive and they did put some pretty cool stuff in there.

I had a Vox SDC 55. It was a really great playing and sounding guitar, loved the bridge, had 15 switch positions and each once had a distinct sound. I didn't find it ugly at all...but there was a problem, it had the worst neck dive I've ever seen in any guitar (and I am used to SG neck dive)....the headstock would go right to the floor. The solution was to put a metal bar extension on the upper horn OR lot's of weight inside the control cavity. I decided to sell it. I really did like it, but it was just too neck heavy. Still am mainly an SG guy.

You don't have to search outside the Gibson brand to find ugly SGs. But then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The lower model sdc33 had neck angle issues. I tried two that the bridges were totally bottomed out and the action was still very high.
