I pulled this one out of the closet the other day and had forgotten how really sweet these are. This is a ‘65 Jr that was a rescue project a few years back (originally cherry with a badly broken neck) that Lou Moritz rebuilt. I’ve had it a while now and don’t play it as often as it deserves.

Post yours up if ya got ‘em!

That is an awesome rescue. I am usually partial to the translucent natural finishes, as opposed to the painted colors. Every once in a while though something comes along that just looks right to me, and this is one of those times. Everything about this just looks right. Really nice instrument, and I agree with the above comment above that it should be played lovingly and often.

To be fair, the reason it doesn’t see a lot of playing time is that my ‘63 SG TV sees most of my playing time, followed by my ‘62 SG Standard or my ’65 SG Standard….but you are correct, I *should* play it more. Lol

New member here. It would seem every picture I have is too large (even screen shots) to post. Is there a secret to pic posting on this site?

In any case I also have a 2018 SG Special in the faded Pelham Blue. I bought it with the intention of swapping the plastics to cream, the P-90's to Mini Humbuckers and adding a Bigsby or Vibrola but haven't committed to anything yet.

You have an icon "Insert Image" , when you selected your picture you choose "full image".

Gold hardware matches with ebony, white, pelham blue, cherry... all finishes.

Beautiful!!!

As for pics mine begin loading then stop with it saying the file is too large so I'm not getting far enough to choose full image. Perhaps I'll try a different device.

Edit. For whatever reason I can load pics today so here's a couple.

Unfortunately I can't transmit pictures as my mails are via a concession at the local biblio (in the U.K.).
In the distant past I've seen one or two SG Juniors in London's 'Tin Pan Alley' and one Standard from the mid 1960s. I don't have one in my now completed collection of SGs, but a few years ago I came across a Pelham Blue EB-3- now in the collection. To see this one go to 'Basschat' and click on the appropriate line; that's it, absolutely gorgeous and will end up in my estate. The Pelham blue colour as shipped is frankly disgusting, what I call 'exercise-book blue, but given time it morphs into this fabulous silvery grey green.
Roger in a sunny South Lakes.
