I don’t think that you all have been following the market. I routinely watch ‘70s era SGs on Reverb and they are actually selling for much more than the prices you are stating.

Here’s a clean 72 for $3,200.00

That’s a nice one, and far pricier than the $1500 to $1900 that have been mentioned here.

It’s not sold yet but shows that it’s had a few offers. Maybe watch it and see what it does. The ones I found around $2k had headstock repairs.

I would never ever pay 3-4K for a Standard SG post 1970. The recent Standard 61 reiusse is imho a lot better for around 2K. Had a '81 and didnt like the bulky Body and neck, the Burstbuckers are much more dynamic and brilliant compared to the Tarbacks.

I've played a bunch of 'VINTAGE' SG's and for my $$$$ ? HA ! My 2017 SG Standard is the best guitar I have ever played...I'm w/C.G., they are all "just old guitars" and my '17 Standard blows the strings off of the lot of them.

Local 1972 SG?

Interesting. I didn't know there were unions for SGs.

Kewl.

How many chapters are there? Where is Local 1972 located? How much are the dues? Do they have snacks?
