If the mahogany was really pretty Epiphone wouldn’t need to hide the misery with this veneer and it’s very visible with the bevels.

Some other brands do it right, here a Tokai SG58 made in China, price is US$ 550

No veneers on my 04 Korean SG 400 all mahogany, I need a new set of pictures. this is showing hardly no grain and it's actually more translucent Burgundy than red

I bought a used one the other day and it should be here Monday. I'm pretty excited for it as I sold my g400 '66 RI a couple years ago to buy a truck.

About to buy this and was planning to replace the bridge with a roller bridge to make tuning more stable. Any thoughts on this? Does your guitar stay in tune after using the vibrola? Also, do you know the diameter of the bridge poles?
I used some pencil lead on the nut and some ordinary oil on the bridege, while bending the strings after changing them. Now it stays in tune very well, but i would still not recommend heavy usage on the vibrola

Well, I do. Provided your nut is properly cut and lubricated, your strings are properly locked and you didn't buy your Vibrola from Failparts or the likes, you can treat it like a man and not a baby. The Vibby itself can take anything, bad setups can't.

Outside in the shadows is the best to take pictures that'll look the closest to what your eyes see. Or there's Photoshop.

I spotted a 3-piece Angus model.
The bridge and tailpiece, pickups and neck are all connected into the same piece of wood.
It reminds me of neck-thru construction.
My 19 Standard was similar.
Look by the tailpiece studs and above the pick guard in the photo.
