The pot codes date to week 52 of 1968, so indeed an early 1969. Would you say the bevels are 68 spec? The body has the three pickup route as well as the B stamp in the control cavity.![]()
That's a REALLY early '69 model, it has the new Gibson and crown inlays, but not yet the new heel design, laminated neck, shallower bevel pickguard and narrower headstock seen on most '69s. Very cool stuff!
I found it on Reverb. Bought from a shop in Paris. Crazy thing is, I saw this guitar in the flesh when I visited that same shop a year ago and even took a picture of it, but I had no idea that was the same guitar I bought just now!HNGD! That's quite a score. Where did you find it?

The pot codes date to week 52 of 1968, so it's definitely been assembled in 1969. Isn't the missing dot over the i a 1969 only spec? The B stamp in the cavity and the three pickup route should also indicate 1969. Bevels on the horns look shallow compared to 1967 and early 1968. Crown inlay is 1969 and later spec with the taller base.Nice! Looks more like a '67 or '68 with that neck joint and one piece neck. Most likely a '68 with no dot over the "i" in Gibson. No big deal, because less were made that year.
