Pulled the trigger on the 61 Standard in Ebony, “exclusive” from Gibson’s website. Been wanting another Ebony SG for awhile after I sold my 2017. Strange thing is the neck feels much more like a normal standard compared to my other 61 Standard. Aside from a chip in the binding near the nut, about the size of the tip of a pen, it’s perfect. Looks slick in Ebony. Gibson necks are hand shaped so you get a bit of variation. Are you gonna put a wide bevel TRC on that one too?

We have the same sickness. I have the same exact two '61 Standards. Not messing with the Cherry-Vibrola cosmetically, but have been having fun with the ebony, like so...

WOW, you sold a 2017 SG ? Was it a Standard ? The 2017 SG Standard I got is the best SG I've ever played, total BAD-A$$ERY......its the one Guitar I'd never sell and looks pretty much like the one you have here on the right, the Black one, only diff being mine has the Locking Grovers from the factory.......

THATSSA REALLY NICE PAIR !

Nice guitars, but you have the wrong WHO poster behind that. I want to see Pete there with an SG.
That is actually a cardboard cutout from a display stand from a record store...when there used to be record stores...I believe it was from a display selling The Who box set "30 Years of Maximum R&B." Would I rather have a nice print of Pete in a white boiler suit windmilling an SG Special circa 1970, sure, but it is what it is and what it is is still pretty cool.

The suit Pete is wearing is a "DROOG' Suit from 'Alex & The DROOG-ies' (DRUGGIES).....in 'A Clock-Work Orange'....Bonham wore the 'DROOG' suit too , w/ Black Bowler Derby on Zeppelin's '75 North American Tour, looked like a 100% Lunatic Druggie....that look was pretty popular back in the daze when I was just comin up.......that movie was pretty nutty too...

My translucent ebony SG has a 5 ply wide bevel pickguard from Creamtone, this part makes the difference.

I want to get one of these black exclusives, but had a stupid question since I can't tell too well.

Do these have the smaller horns? I had a 61 reissue back in the mid-2000's and loved the smaller horns, slim taper and a little wider neck. I REALLY regret selling that guitar but I must have needed money or wasn't playing in a band anymore.

...but can you guys snap some 3/4 profile pictures? thank you!

Kuel. Back in the day when I was a young lad, I had a donated life-size cardboard cutout of Cybill Shepherd standing in 70's style short-shorts. It was part of a makeup campaign she was shilling for at the time. From 20' it was very lifelike. Had some laughs with that.

Can you post photos showing the side thickness of the neck? I wonder if the 61 standard has a sort of inbetween thickness neck, or if it is the same as the normal large guard standards.
