...my SG arrived at my door. I can now say that I'm fully satisfied with my purchase. It is a 2006 SG Standard and I bought it used. There were some dings and scratches from the previous owner, but I haven't added any of my own (that I have noticed).

This was taken only a matter of days or weeks after it arrived:

Here is a recent shot. Nothing has changed.

I'll try to take a bunch of new pictures soon.

Anyway, enjoy!

Yes, I did indeed take the plastic off the pickguard. The seller hadn't yet removed it, but I took it off after the first few days of ownership.

Thanks for the comments! :D

hard to go wrong with an SG standard. Great all around guitars. Just be careful the SG bug doesn't bite again. Lots of us end up adding to our SG collections over the years. Maybe an SG classic next ;)

[/quote]This isn't really the right place to say this, but I'll go ahead and say that I'm more of a Les Paul man. I'd end up having a Les Paul before another SG.

Yep, I got some pauls too. Here is my favorite one. WHen I saw the wood grain... just knew I was going to buy it. Fact it was at a small shop and the guy made me a good deal on it was just icing on the cake.

flame is pretty tame on it but the wood grain is right up my alley!

that is a sweet acoustic you got there too! I've never owned one but have played one and it was a powerhouse of an acoustic. Really strong projection!

Acoustics can go from extremely quiet to extremely loud. They're very responsive.

I meant I never had a gibson dove

I do have a couple acoustics. I just went the small cutaway route on my latest. Very comfortable to play but not as loud as a dreadnaught.

here is a shot of my acoustic

I thought it would have been a little strange, but I figured it was possible that someone would have rarely played an acoustic. :D ;D

Actually, mine isn't a Gibson. It's an Aria from 1977, and I believe it is a "lawsuit" guitar. I'd like to own a real Dove someday, but this suits me fine for now. 8)
