These have different cables and quick connect
The ones i would buy are for soldering with a different cables

I was thinking, Epiphones are made in China, the probuckers are also made in China. So what difference can be there in Aliexpress and Epiphone store? Probably made in the same factory. Keep in mind that they produce thousands, and the retail shops are buying these Epiphone guitars for cheap prices from China and selling them for the same as Epiphone website

I decided that i am going to buy them from the seller, these Austrians are pretty honest and i have a great experience with them, what point would be to lie about a chinese pickups anyway? 50€ is acceptable for the set and i am going to Vienna anyway for the gig to see Ville Valo so i will pickup them up

Thanks guys

What's to say that Chinese factories, or someone working in one, aren't producing extra pickups and selling them on the side? I got some Epi FB720 Firebird pickups from a Chinese seller on Ebay and they sound great. I also purchased a Tele neck that was not advertised as a Squier Custom Vibe but appears to be in every way, and it didn't have any holes drilled yet for attaching to the body, so clearly it didn't come off a guitar. It's a great neck.

So I'm of the mind that many of these "fakes" are actually the real thing, and if they're not they are of equal quality.
Exactly what fakers want you to think and it looks like they succeeded. You really think Gibson doesn't have control on where their products end up ?

That said, making a pickup is not rocket science and yes the Chinese fakes can sound good, but they can also sound bad or be defective, it's a crap game. What is not OK is stealing intellectual property, brand name, etc. Why not buy from one of the small builders like Guitar Madness, GFDS, Artec, Iron Gear or any other and stop encouraging thievery ?

Good then, if you feel safe, do it, you'll love them they're great pups.

One of my local guitar shops has a set of counterfeit PAFs in his display case. He will not sell them, but he does use them to show how good the fakes can be. They are good enough to fool me, but I am no expert and can't afford (and hence have little interest in) "expensive old s##t " when I can get what I need for way less money.

He told me he has had several people get their checkbooks out and try to purchase them, and he takes that opportunity to educate his clients. Some people still wanted them even after he told them they were fakes, either planing to rip someone else off or thinking the labels were the source of the magic tone. You can make a great set of pickups for way less than most people think, and I see little or no reliable link between price and "sound quality" in many cases. Sure you can expect better quality for a higher price, but you won't always get it.

yes i know these fake ones from ebay.. etc.
but the ones mentioned above look different and "more " legit to me.

can only say this from a feeling ,of course they could be fake as well.
but we will see them maybe when the thread starter will get them in hand by real.

Get them. Try them. For $50, see what they do. If you don't like the sound, sell them.

Guys, those of you who came across the Epiphone probuckers pickups in any guitar (mostly LP) - what is your opinion on these pickups?

I have a chance to get a set for 50€
They have normal cables meant for soldering, not easy connect installation
No special harness for these

Have you tried these in SG? Would they sound too bright in SG standard harness (500pots, no coil split)?
Seem to be a good price and a lotta people that I know like them. New they go for $170 USD a pair.
