Hey all, just curious as to what the SG Pro would sell for on the used market? I have intensions of purchasing the SG Modern Figured (I want a guitar with 24 frets) and I currently have the SG Pro. I will use the funds from the sale to pay for a chunk of the Modern. Keep in mind I am a Canadian resident.

Thanks!

I follow this market fairly closely in the Southern USA. Here, the G400's usually get listed at $350 - $400.

Most people have little feel for the variations over the years so more or less desirable isn't typically a factor properly averaged in. The market doesn't usually differentiate a Pro from a standard G400 price wise.

The higher priced Epi SG lines that are now $900 new are throwing some confusion. Some people are trying to sell G400's for $500-$600 used. No surprise that they don't sell.

Eventually most get marked down to $350. Many are out there for months. At $300 they actually sell.

Those are sans case prices... but cases add little market value in a sale and sell for less than half of new prices on the used market when sold solo. If you're buying another SG, just keep your case for that.

A lot of this is very regional, so check the local market as @DrBGood posted.

I couldn't resist.
They're really are nice, as long as you can live with a solid color.
And really good if you're going somewhere someone is going to ask to play your guitar "for a couple songs".

And some of the colors aren't that great either. They always do something like make a real cool guitar and then do something that will not make it appeal to everyone.

I bought a gold, a white and a purple SG Muse, all in excellent, what looks to me like Asian automotive metalflake.
With hard cases. All at the same time, a Big Time !
Installed "made for Gibson SG" full face pickguards, each with a little different pattern & color.
Using a slightly smaller screw from Thompson's Guitar parts.
Yielding a smooth & to the level touch . . .
Only had to file the pickguards' bridge bushing holes a smidge to fit.
Otherwise "made for Gibson SG pickguards" match up the SG Muse hardware perfectly.

Pawn shops here in northern Floriduh, range from 300-400 generally. And as they sit, you can bargain them down to 200.
