I've had quite a few Teles over the years. In fact, my first electric was a 1968 Telecaster that I bought back in 1978. Anyway, this is the only one I have now. (Blond with Brazilian slab fretboard )
Because I only play GIBSON Standards or Customs/ES's, I do not own a Fender (IMO single coil Pickups just don't cut it !). BUT BUT BUT I do own GIBSON's answer to the Telecaster/Stratocaster: the 2018 GIBSON USA FIREBIRD T (Standard) w/Hi-OutPut Mini-Humbuckers......and it FUCKIN SCREEEMS ! I hav put 'Blackie' up against Tele's and Strat's and the only Tele/Strat's that do not get their strings blown off the stage are the Fender's with Humbuckers. THE REST ? 'BLACKIE' will eat them for breakfast....it's just the way it is. There is no bias involved w/my analysis. The Tele's w/Humbuckers like Keef's 'Micawber' are BAD-A$$$, THEY ARE ! but the rest? the one's w/single coil Pickup's ? UH............NO !!!
OF COURSE I CANT UP A PICTURE ON THIS WEBSITE......I have posted a few previously. The 2018 GIBSON USA FIREBIRD T (Standard) is referred to as 'The BLACKBIRD' due to its all BLACK finish.
