Recent NGD for me... got this 2002 special faded that arrived with a few modifications made by the previous owner(s). The only thing I've added is the new witch hat knobs and a new TRC & switch tip (both on order).

Compared to the original specs which were confirmed by emailing Gibson, the Deluxe tuners were changed to Grovers, 4 additional moon inlays were added to the upper register and the original 490R/490T where replaced with Seymour Duncan APH-2s (Slash Set). I didn't notice the pickups until after I removed the guard during cleaning and setting up, as they were not mentioned in the sale listing ... bonus!

This guitar was in a mess when I got it. Very badly mistreated. I worked on the instrument a year a go when I was on lock down. I know it looks a little scratched now but I kind of like that it shows that it has been used and not just sat in the corner or hanging on a wall.

Originally the guitar was faded brown with the full specs of a Gibson SG 2017 faded. I really like this guitar especially the bare Knuckles pups. I own several guitars and this is always been my go to. I have not been playing as much as some as you guys but this guitar has inspired me. Looking back I wish I chose gold hardware instead of chrome but that is all.

Sorry for the picture quality I am new to this site and could not figure out how to put better pictures up. The pictures don’t show it but it is a lot more glossy than it shows .

Please can you give your opinion about my SG

@Neilsg
I like your SG Special, the stopbar and the bridge look like a Kahler, nice knobs and nice tuner buttons too. A bemol for the TRC. You made a nice job.
May be a tortoise or a cream pickguard should be fine.

I think you did a nice job. I see what you were going for with the matched scratchplate and it does look nice, I think I’d have gone for more of a contrast in colour, but good job.
I love the bridge and TOM, chrome is better than gold IMO, gold just wears off….

I know this is a SG forum but I just wanted to ask your guys opinion I love my SG and would never part from it but I am thinking about getting another guitar. What do you guys think about the Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy (The new version) I like the idea of of the multi voiced pickups and the 24 frets but I am not sure if it just a gimmick if that make sense

I like your custom SG Special, what is the blue light near the switch ?

The fret zero is a good way to have a very low action.
