SG knockoff body and a Flying V neck. Saw Billy Gibbons playing one a month ago in The Woodlands (just north of Houston) and thought "Aha! My next project!".

Mahogany body (not superb grain but good enough).

Hardware will be all chrome, regular stoptail and bridge. The pickups will either be my spare set of nickel covered Gibson 57s or other nickel/ chrome yet to be bought (SD Pearly Gates being one obvious choice).

I already have a genuine 2015 cherry Gibson SG.

So...

You can make a Billy Gibbons' SG inspired SG with or without the Vibrola,

That is the plan. Kind of. More an "inspired by" than an outright copy. No pinstripes for a start.

And no vibrola.

Thanks.

Once the painting and polishing are finished, hopefully this weekend, it's getting a set of SD Pearly Gates. The jury's still out on whether or not to fit a Bigsby. It'll probably get a regular stoptail first, set up, then, if I  do fit a Bigsby, that will probably be after Chrimbo.

I’d let it cure for 2 weeks before polishing

The paint, well, lacquer, I'm using goes off pretty quickly. Rust-oleum oil based if youre interested. Lacquer_Aerosol_Black_480x480.png Most of it has already been on for at least a week, and I'm just doing touch ups at the moment. A sand and polish now in case there's any defects, then polish again if / when I fit the Bigsby.

I’ve used the stew rattle cans on 2 that already had nitro but your stuff is a much more affordable alternative when it’s possible to use it.
