Ever since we lost the old reference pages on ETSG, there has been no good resource for SG information. So, I thought It would be a fun and helpful project to put together a wiki detailing all the features and changes throughout the years, particularly the 60s and 70s, in order to aid with dating, which is so commonly mistaken.

So far, I've just made a page for the SG Junior as an example of what I'd like the model pages to be, but I also plan to have pages dedicated to things like heel design, chronological changes, and so on. Check it out:

http://solidguitar.wikia.com/wiki/SG_Junior

I won't have much time to work on it until after May though, seeing as I'm starting my first guitar build. Shameless plug:

Great idea, there's really not enough freely available info on SGs. I remember first finding this site and being really pleased to discover all the info, and sad to later find it had been lost. I think it'll be really helpful to have detailed info on subjects like heel design changes too.

I'm sure it'll be a challenge getting comprehensive details of all the 80s models, when Gibson seemed to be trying to create an SG-shaped Strat clone, and for that matter, the endless short run models they've produced since then...

BTW, first page looks great. :)

I've heard that way back time machine can be use to retrieve material once found in the archive here. May be worth a look to try to salvage some of it.

That was the plan, but I found a site with all of the old catalogs and then some. :naughty:
